About the CEO

Kevin Keys III, M.Ed.  is an accomplished educator, community advocate, and leader deeply rooted in service and education. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Kevin completed his K-12 education in the Oak Park School District, a place that helped shape his journey. His deep connection to this community continues to inspire his work as he strives to give back to the district that first nurtured his potential.

Currently, Kevin serves as a 7th and 8th-grade Social Studies teacher at Bradford Academy in Southfield, Michigan, where he fosters a passion for history and civic engagement among his students. He is also the Chief Development Officer of Historically Black Since, a platform dedicated to celebrating and amplifying the legacy and culture of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Kevin’s educational accomplishments are a testament to his drive and dedication. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Miles College, completing it in just 2.5 years at the age of 20. He went on to earn his Master’s of Education in Educational Administration with a concentration in Higher Education and Human Resources from Texas Southern University. He is currently in school at Virginia University of Lynchburg where he will receive his Doctorate of Healthcare Administration in December. 

As the founder and CEO of the Keys 2 Success Foundation, Kevin has traveled across the country facilitating leadership workshops and trainings, inspiring countless individuals to realize their potential. His work has been widely recognized by notable organizations, including the NAACP, and he has worked with prominent figures in education and activism.

Kevin’s leadership extends beyond the classroom. He is the former Regional 2nd Vice Director of the Southern Region of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and served as the President of the Miles College chapter of the NAACP. A proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and the NAACP, Kevin is a steadfast advocate for equity, social justice, and youth empowerment.

His passion for community engagement has always been evident. As a former teacher in the Oak Park School District his alma mater Kevin returned to the classrooms and hallways that once shaped his own journey to empower the next generation of students. He has also served as the Director of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at Einstein Elementary, the District Step Coach roles that strengthened relationships within the community and supported both students and parents alike.

Kevin’s advocacy extends into public service, as he has campaigned for elected office, including running for State Representative and the Oak Park School Board. His platform focuses on equitable education, community investment, and creating safe, inclusive spaces where every student can thrive.
